Siddiqi thanked the minister for steadfast support of Singapore to Bangladesh and engagement with its interim government, especially on negotiations for a free trade agreement that officially started last month, according to a message received here.

"Bangladesh looks forward to a deeper and wider relationship with Singapore that encompasses, amongst other things, trade, investments, and knowledge transfer," the special envoy said.

Fu thanked Siddiqi for his briefing on the reforms agenda of the interim government and offered to share the benefit of Singapore's own experiences as Bangladesh embarks on a historic opportunity to enhance conditions for investment through better governance.

Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Ashik Chowdhury and Bangladesh Commercial Counsellor in Singapore Luthfun Nahar were also present at the meeting.
