Bangladesh sends second aid package to Myanmar quake victims

Bangladesh has sent the second shipment of emergency medicines and relief supplies to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Myanmar. This morning, three transport aircraft from the Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Air Force carried the aid to Myanmar, following the directives of Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus. Eight tonnes of dry food, 2.5 tonnes of water, four tonnes of medicine, one tonne of hygiene products, and 1.5 tonnes of relief tents were sent for the earthquake-stricken people. The 55-member Bangladeshi assistance team, led by Colonel Md Shamim Iftekhar, will conduct rescue operations and provide emergency medical services in the affected areas. This includes a 34-member rescue team comprising 21 from the Army, 2 from the Navy, 1 from the Air Force, and 10 from the Fire Service and Civil Defence. Additionally, the 21-member medical team consists of 10 from the Army, 1 from the Navy, 2 from the Air Force, and 8 civilian doctors and nurses, according to ISPR. Earlier on Sunday, Bangladesh sent its first shipment of urgent relief materials, including medicines, tents, dry food, and medical teams, to Myanmar through the Bangladesh Armed Forces, led by the Bangladesh Army. Bangladesh's swift response during Myanmar's crisis reflects its commitment to regional solidarity and humanitarian assistance. The Armed Forces believe that this aid will help alleviate the suffering of earthquake victims and strengthen mutual trust and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. Bangladesh remains committed to providing humanitarian support whenever required on the global stage.
