High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh, Ajit Singh, and Senior Trade Commissioner, Debra Boyce, were honoured to join the Iftar Mahfil hosted by the Canada Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CanCham) on March 15, 2026.

During remarks made by High Commissioner Singh, CamCham’s President Mohammad Kamal Uddin, Vice-President Mostofa Quamrus Sobhan, and Director Ahmad Mushfeq Anam, speakers highlighted the longstanding ties between Canada and Bangladesh, notably through trade that increased to over $4 billion in 2025 despite a challenging context.  Participants also underscored the strong people-to-people connections between our countries, and collaboration between businesses, that is creating new opportunities for the shared prosperity for people in both our countries.

Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity, and community, and it was wonderful to share this special moment with business leaders and partners who strive to strengthen the ties between Canada and Bangladesh.
