Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today left here for Dubai to attend the “World Governments Summit-2025” being held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
A flight of the Emirates airlines carrying Prof Yunus and his entourage members departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 7:45 pm, Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder told BSS.
"By participating in the summit, the Honorable Chief Adviser will have the opportunity to present Bangladesh's perspectives on global challenges and international issues," foreign ministry spokesperson Mohammad Rafiqul Alam told a media briefing on February 9 last.
During his brief visit to Dubai, the chief adviser is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with the heads of state and government from different countries on the sidelines of the summit.
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum invited the chief adviser to the summit at a formal invitation on January 13, 2025.
The World Governments Summit, established in 2013 under the leadership of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, serves as a global platform for exchanging government experiences and innovations.
Prof Yunus is scheduled to return home on February 14.
