AmCham hosted a luncheon meeting titled “Advancing U.S.–Bangladesh Economic Partnership” today

The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) hosted a luncheon meeting titled “Advancing U.S.–Bangladesh Economic Partnership” on April 28, 2026, at the Sheraton Dhaka, bringing together senior government officials, diplomats, regulatory authorities, business leaders, and AmCham members to advance dialogue on bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

The event was graced by H.E. Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, Honorable Minister of Commerce, as Chief Guest, while H.E. Brent T. Christensen attended as Special Guest.

The luncheon was presided over by AmCham President Mr. Syed Ershad Ahmed alongside members of the AmCham Executive Committee.

In his remarks, Mr. Syed Ershad Ahmed underscored AmCham’s continued commitment to strengthening U.S.–Bangladesh economic relations, promoting responsible business practices, and fostering a conducive environment for trade and investment.


Ambassador Christensen highlighted the significance of the ART agreement in preserving Bangladesh’s competitive access to the U.S. market and reaffirmed the United States’ strong commitment to deepening trade, investment, and economic cooperation with Bangladesh.
Honorable Commerce Minister H.E. Khandakar Abdul Muktadir emphasized export diversification, expanded market access, and enhanced investment collaboration, while reaffirming the Government’s focus on sectors including pharmaceuticals, leather goods, agriculture, light engineering, and ICT to strengthen Bangladesh’s economic growth trajectory.

The luncheon concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A session, moderated by Mr. Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh, Executive Director of AmCham, facilitating a constructive exchange of perspectives between the distinguished guests and the business community.

The luncheon was held with the valued support of Colgate-Palmolive, Excelerate Energy, Omera LPG, Air Alliance Limited (UPS), Saber Travels, and Beyond Innovations & Technologies Limited.
