The grand opening ceremony of the 40th convention of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOABANA) will be held on Saturday, March 28, at the Hilton Los Angeles in Universal City, California. A festive atmosphere is already building among members of the executive committee and organizers surrounding the kickoff event.
According to FOABANA’s executive committee and the host organization, the full convention will take place during Labor Day weekend, September 4–6, at the same venue. This year’s convention is being organized by the Bangladesh Association of California (BAC). Preparatory work is already underway, with the official launch of the convention program scheduled for March 28.
Organizers stated that the venue was chosen to make this year’s convention a historic event. Universal City in Los Angeles is a major hub of the entertainment industry, offering a unique blend of history, modern attractions, and cultural experiences. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy nearby attractions such as Universal Studios Hollywood, including the famous studio tour, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and the thrilling Fast & Furious ride.
Leaders of the host organization expect the opening ceremony to be attended by Bangladeshi community leaders in Los Angeles, mainstream politicians, distinguished guests, artists, media professionals, corporate executives, and sponsors.
FOABANA Executive Committee Chairperson Rabiul Karim Belal, Executive Secretary Khaled Ahmed Rouf, Convener Dr. Zainul Abedin, and Member Secretary Engineer Mohammad Iqbal have invited all FOABANA affiliates and community members to attend the opening ceremony.
