Hajj flights to start from Apr 29

Hajj flights for this year is set to begin on April 29 and will continue till May 31.
The information was disclosed at a meeting on Hajj management held today at the Tourism Building in Agargaon.
Nasreen Jahan, secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, chaired the meeting.
According to the meeting, a total of 87,100 Bangladeshi pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year.
As part of the transportation arrangements, Biman will carry 50% of the total pilgrims (43,550), while Saudia Airlines (35%) and Flynas Airlines (15%) will transport the remaining 43,550 pilgrims.
The airfare for this year has been set at Tk 167,820.
Discussions at the meeting covered the flight schedule, Hajj flights for Bangladeshi expatriates, passenger numbers for each flight, uploading relevant information on the portal, baggage management for pilgrims, and ensuring seamless transportation services.
To ensure smooth Hajj transportation, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has formed a task force and a monitoring committee.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the relevant ministries, airlines, and Hajj agencies.
Hajj is expected to be held on June 5, subject to moon sighting.
