Russian House in Dhaka Holds Gala Concert Celebrating National Flag Day of the Russian Federation

On August 22, 2025, the Rabindra Sarobar Amphitheater in Dhaka hosted a magnificent gala concert organized by the Russian House in Dhaka to celebrate the National Flag Day of the Russian Federation. The event beautifully blended Russian and Bangladeshi cultural traditions, serving as a powerful symbol of friendship and mutual understanding between the two nations.

The official part commenced with addresses by a representative of Dhaka City Corporation and the Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh, who emphasized the importance of national symbols and the significance of the Russian tricolor as an embodiment of national identity and sovereignty.

The cultural program featured performances by renowned Bangladeshi musical groups. The student ensemble Akash'Co presented Russian musical compositions, while the famous rock band Sonar Bangla Circus performed both Russian pieces and original works in Bengali.

The emotional highlight of the evening was the solemn procession of a 31-meter Russian flag through the audience, which created a particularly powerful response among attendees. Guests also had the opportunity to take photographs with Russian state symbols and receive commemorative souvenirs.

Minister-counsellor of the Russian embassy to Bangladesh Ms Ekaterina Semenova, stated: "This concert became not only a celebration of the Russian national flag but also a bridge of cultural interaction between our countries. We thank our Bangladeshi friends for their warm reception and joint celebration."
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, Bangladeshi government agencies, students, and about 8,000 local residents, all of whom highly praised the organization of the event and its contribution to strengthening Russian-Bangladeshi relations. The amazing turnout and active participation of the Bangladeshi public demonstrated a sincere interest in Russian culture and strengthened the bonds of friendship between our countries.
