This is the best time for Bangladesh to utilise the current warm relations with the US and sign bilateral trade deals, said Md Hafizur Rahman, administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
The US is one of the largest garment export markets for Bangladesh and the benefit of lower tariffs should be utilised, he said.
The FBCCI administrator thanked the Trump administration for reducing the reciprocal tariffs for Bangladesh.
Rahman made the comments during a meeting when Paul G Frost, commercial counsellor at the US embassy in Dhaka, visited the FBCCI office in the capital today.
