Bangladesh Ambassador Calls on the Algerian Foreign Minister

Newly appointed Ambassador of Bangladesh to Algeria, Md. Najmul Huda called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Mr. Ahmed ATTAF in Algiers on Wednesday  (11June, 2025) and presented a copy of Credentials to him.

The Algerian Foreign Minister warmly congratulated Mr. Huda on his appointment as the Bangladesh Ambassador to Algeria and assured him of all possible support and cooperation during his tour of duty in Algiers. During his brief discussion, Mr. Attaf lauded the significant socio-economic progress of Bangladesh and expressed satisfaction at the excellent bilateral relations existing between the two brotherly countries. On this occasion, he laid emphasis on making concerted efforts for tapping into the untapped potentials in the areas of trade, economy, investment, educational and cultural exchanges, scientific collaboration, sports, etc. for making the bilateral relations more substantial and vibrant.

The Algerian Foreign Minister conveyed best wishes for the success of the reform agenda pursued by the Interim Government of Bangladesh under the leadership of the Nobel Laureate Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He also expressed satisfaction at the admirable cooperation between the two counties in the multilateral fora such as OIC, NAM and United Nations and expressed his optimism for maintaining the momentum of the cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect and benefits.

 In his remarks, Ambassador Najmul Huda also stressed the importance of increasing bilateral trade and investment and expressed his keenness for working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria and other government and private entities closely. He conveyed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria for holding the 2nd bilateral consultations between Bangladesh and Algeria on 04 February 2025 in Algiers, which added further momentum to the bilateral engagements. Ambassador Huda also humbly reminded Mr. Attaf of the invitation extended by the Foreign Affairs Adviser of Bangladesh regarding the former’s visit to Bangladesh for further solidifying the bilateral cooperation. The Minister responded positively expressing his willingness to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time in near future. The Ambassador also thanked Mr. Attaf for Algeria’s firm support to Bangladesh on the issue of Rohingyas and expressed hope that Algeria would further intensify its support for materializing an expeditious, safe and dignified return of Rohingyas to their motherland Myanmar.

The Algerian Foreign Minister wished the newly appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to the country every success and conveyed his best wishes to the Chief Adviser and Foreign Affairs Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh.
