The Eid-ul-Azha holidays will begin on June 5 and continue until June 14, offering a 10-day break for public servants across the country.
The decision was finalised today at a meeting of the interim government's advisory council held at the Chief Adviser's Office.
A senior council member confirmed the holiday schedule to Prothom Alo following the meeting.
To compensate for the extended leave, all government offices will remain open on two upcoming Saturdays— May 17 and May 24—which are typically weekly holidays.
Earlier, Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser, had announced the 10-day holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha in a post from his verified Facebook account.
