Momen attends event to condole Kuwaiti Emir’s demise

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on behalf of Bangladesh attended an event to condole the demise of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at the Amiri Diwan yesterday evening.

He conveyed deep condolences and sympathies from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Mohammed Shahabuddin for the bereaved members of the Royal Family and the people of Kuwait during an audience with the new Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Momen also conveyed warm greetings to the new Kuwaiti Emir on his assumption of the office, according to a statement of the foreign ministry.

Momen recalled the great contribution of the late Emir to the welfare of Bangladeshi community in Kuwait and to the strengthening of bilateral ties between Kuwait and Bangladesh.

He also extended invitation from PM Sheikh Hasina to the new Emir to visit Bangladesh, to which Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad responded positively.

He also thanked the foreign minister and his delegation for attending the event and lauded PM Hasina for her dynamic leadership in transforming the people's lives in Bangladesh.
