Indian President Droupadi Murmu has wished "the best of health" of her Bangladesh counterpart Mohammed Shahabuddin, who is recuperating after an open heart surgery in Singapore.
“I have been informed about your recent medical surgery, and I am pleased to know that you are recovering well post-surgery," Murmu said in a message.
"On behalf of the government and the people of India, I take this opportunity to extend my good wishes to you. I pray for your continued good health and uplifted spirits in the days to come.
"Wishing you the best of health and great success in your future endeavors. Please accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration," read the message.
President Shahabuddin's bypass surgery was successfully completed at the National University Hospital of Singapore last Wednesday.
He was transferred to the cabin from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National University Hospital of Singapore on Friday, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin said.
After the surgery, he was kept under the intensive care of doctors in the intensive care unit for a day under the supervision of Prof Dr Kofidis Theodoros, a distinguished cardiac surgeon of the hospital.
The president went to Singapore on Monday for treatment.
