The II Global Digital Forum took place in Moscow, Russia, from 8 to 10 October 2026. It was organised with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The operators were National Priorities and the Center for Global IT Cooperation. The Government of Moscow was General Partner and PSB Bank was Strategic Partner. The forum was held as part of Digital Solutions, Russia’s largest IT event, at the Mechta venue in Gorky Park. The first Global Digital Forum was held in Nizhny Novgorod on 5–6 June 2025.
Held under the slogan “Communicate. Connect. Create.”, the forum aimed to provide an open
international platform where governments, international organisations, IT businesses,
technology communities, academia and civil society could discuss shared digital futures. It
promoted digital cooperation built on trust, respect and equal opportunities for all nations.
According to the organisers, more than 60 sessions, including roundtables, lectures, workshops and presentations, were held over the three days. They welcomed over 1,300 guests, among them 730 experts from 111 countries. More than 70 high-ranking Russian and international officials took part in plenary sessions and panel discussions. On the sidelines, 150 agreements and memorandums were signed and over 200 bilateral meetings were held. Key themes
included global rules for artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, child online safety, AI
ethics, smart cities, cybersecurity, digital education and the future of media.
Bangladesh’s participation was notable. A delegation of 19 people, including IT entrepreneurs,
students, education professionals and teachers, represented the country at the forum. The
organisers supported all delegates with airfare, accommodation and visa costs. The Bangladesh
delegation comprised Mohammed Saifuddin Munna, Anjan Chandra Das, Mohammad Saber
Shah, Md Shahriar Azad Evan, Jannatul Ferdus Lufin, Jannatul Mawa Mim, Rasedul Haque,
Khan Mohammad Nakib, Rahat Uddin, Md Abdur Rashid Sohag, Mamun Sheikh, Md. Enamul
Haque, Golam Kibrea, Md Abu Bakar Siddique, Md Saddam Hossain Roni, SM Shozibul
Islam, Mohammad Faisal Akber, Majadur Rahaman Robin and Amzad Hossain Samim.
Bangladeshi participants also contributed to the programme as speakers. On 8 October, Khan
Mohammad Nakib, CEO of DianaHost, spoke at the panel discussion “The Value of a Name:
Domain as a Digital Asset”. The same day, Md. Saddam Hossain Roni, Independent Researcher
and Developer at Talk Hope Integrated Model (THIM), took part in the panel “Humans Need
Humans: Trust in Media in the Age of AI”.
Distinguished representatives of Bangladesh also attended the forum: Mr. Faqir Mahbub
Anam, MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information
Technology and Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Hon’ble
Ambassador, Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Moscow; and Mr.
Muhammad Mukhlesur Rahman, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications
and Information Technology.
A major achievement for Bangladesh was the direct participation of its young entrepreneurs,
educators and students on an international stage, with the opportunity to present their views in
global discussions. Several Bangladeshi institutions and universities signed Memoranda of
Understanding (MoUs) with Russian organisations during the forum. These agreements are
expected to open new avenues for Bangladesh–Russia cooperation in technology, education and research.
