BNP inks MoU with CPC in Beijing

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) at Diaoyutai state guesthouse here today.
Humaiun Kobir, BNP Joint Secretary General (International Relations) and Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective political parties.
Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Liu Haixing, Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, Water Resources Minister Md. Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee and State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat were present.
Later, Tarique Rahman and Haixing exchanged gift items.    
This is the first Memorandum of Understanding ever signed between the two parties.
Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman along with his wife and entourage members arrived here yesterday (Wednesday) from Dalian, a port city of China’s Liaoning province, after attending the World Economic Forum's Summer Davos there.
