Consensus commission's meeting with major political parties begins

The scheduled meeting of the National Consensus Commission began at 4:52pm today at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.
Leaders from several political parties, including the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Ganosamhati Andolon, and the Communist Party of Bangladesh is attending meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
A three-member BNP delegation, led by Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed, entered the venue alongside Ismail Jobiullah, a member of the BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council, and Barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kajol, former general secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Jamaat-e-Islami was represented by Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad, and Central Executive Council member Harunur Rashid.
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Chairman Major General (retd) Syed Mohammad Ibrahim also attended, accompanied by Senior Vice-Chairman Redwan Ahmed and Joint Secretary Shamsuddin Didar.
The National Citizens' Party (NCP) was represented by Convener Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhter Hossain, and Joint Convener Sarwar Tushar.
Other notable participants included Ganosamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) General Secretary Asaduzzaman Fuad, CPB Dhaka City General Secretary Sajedul Haque Rubel, and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) senior leader Bazlur Rashid Firoz.
