Journalists are the mirror of society: Alhaj Benazir Ahmad MP

The 11th anniversary of Gono Bishwabidyalay Journalists Association (GBJA) of Savar was celebrated in a colorful event.

The day-long event started with a joyous procession on Thursday (February 15) at 11 am.

Feature exhibition and cake cutting was held after the procession. The invited guests toured and appreciated the features released at various times. Later they attended the discussion meeting on the occasion of the foundation anniversary.

Alhaj Benazir Ahmad, Member of the University Syndicate and Member of Parliament of Dhaka-20 Constituency was present as the chief guest. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. as the main negotiator. Md. Abul Hossain, Prothom Alo's own reporter Shamsuzzaman Shams was present as a special attraction.

The chief guest said that journalists are the mirror of society. They can positively solve various anomalies of the society if they want. At the same time, many people's careers can be ruined by the misuse of journalism. You should be aware of these things.

The Vice-Chancellor said that GBJA should play an important role in the development of the university. I have no complaints about the negatives. University can be changed through criticism.

Prothom Alo's special reporter Shamsuzzaman Shams shed light on news and journalism at the event. He elaborates on the latest challenges in journalism and the way forward.

At the end of the discussion meeting, a three (3) member 'GBJA Advisory Council' was announced for the session 2023-24 for the smooth running of the activities of the organization.

University registrar S. Tasaddek Ahmed, various faculty deans, department presidents, administrative personnel, teachers-students, leaders of various organizations were present.

Incidentally, GBJA is the oldest organization of the university. They started their journey on 2013 as the country's first private university journalist association.
